Beljafla was commissioned by Sharjah Culture to create two works of art for the illustrious Islamic Arts Festival, Edition 24, at Sharjah art museum. The exhibition was held from the 15th of December 2021 to the 23rd of January 2022.
The collection beljafla created was called “the infinite light” and comprises of a surreal sculptural piece “The eternal Guide” and a painting “The Divine Protection”.
The Surreal sculpture “The Eternal Guide”, is embedded with rich symbolism and adorned in a vibrant turquoise palette that explores the multidimensional subject of enlightenment and mankind’s infinite spiritual growth rooted in the divine.
Hanging from the ceiling is the painting “The Divine Protection” symbolizing a halo, embellished with one of the 99 beautiful names of God in Islam “Al Salam” which translates as peace, it is set on a vibrant orange canvas and radiates powerful healing energies and blessings into the space.
Centrally embedded in the tree’s amethyst-filled hollow is a gold plated jewel embellished with the name Allah in calligraphy, symbolizing the divine within all living beings. The 99 branches of the tree, organically extend from the trunk, mirroring the 99 beautiful names of God in Islam and symbolic of transformation. The roots of the tree are designed in an infinite loop. The infinity symbolizes that the core of faith is an everlasting connection to the Divine.
